General Membership Meeting - October 10, 2019 - Minutes

President Bonnie Corbett called the meeting to order at 7:31p.m. Bob Humphrey lead the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance. There were 70 members and 4 guests at the meeting tonight.

Findlay Chevrolet: Paul Patane thanked the membership for all the support that we give him, Slim and Findlay Chevrolet.

Minutes: A motion was made by Mike Borders and seconded by Bob O'Brien to approve the September meeting minutes. The motion was carried.

Birthdays: October birthdays were read and coupons given out by Lin Hoernke.

President's Report: President Bonnie Corbett reminded membership that Nominations will be held in November and that you need to renew your membership by December 1st in order to vote in the December's election. Bonnie also announced that Sally McVane is heading up the Nominating Committee.

Nominations: Sally McVane announced that the following positions are appointed by the incoming President and are a voting position on the Executive Board. They are the following: Events Coordinator, Membership, Publicity, Newsvetter Editor, NCCC Governor and Webmaster. Sally also announced the Committee Chairs are a volunteer positions and do not have a voting right on the Board. They are the following: Racer's Edge, Drag Race Series, Community Service, Storekeeper, NCM Ambassador, Sunshine, Sponsor Liaison, By-Laws, and Archives/Mossyback chairperson. Sally encouraged all members to volunteer and mentioned that it is work and a lot of fun.

Treasurer's Report: Connie Gentry said, we are looking good financially and better when renewals start rolling in.

Old Business: By-laws: Jimmy Cavallo read the By-Law that was published in the September Newsvetter submitted by Pat Russell. The By-law was to Reduce the Reserve Account Amount to $10,000 from $25,000. The By-Laws committee recommended "not adopt". The Board also voted to "not adopt". Discussion was held. A vote of 2/3's is needed to adopt the By-law for approval. The vote was overwhelmingly voted down. The By-law was not adopted.

New Business: Introduction of guests and prospective members: Kathy Ackeret introduced the guests in attendance tonight. They were the following: Charles and Ty Hildenstab, Sharron Boyd and Karen Salk. New member receiving his joining plaque tonight was Kerry Kishbaugh. Welcome to all.

Committee Reports:
Sunshine - Benita Klaizner informed us that we have lost a former member Greg Welch, he has passed away. More information to follow at a later date.

Racers Edge - Ken Rees announced that Silver State was fantastic this year. The Open Road Race in May of 2020, will need a volunteer to chair this event. John and Cindy Fuller have volunteered to chair the Silver State race in September of 2020. Drag Races are completed for the year, winners will be announced at the Banquet. There are 3 more autocross races left for this year. Ken Rees informed the club that he will be stepping down as Drag Race Chairman. We will need a volunteer chairperson for the 2020 Drag Racing Series for next year.

Website - Lennard Grodzinsky is very pleased with the response the website has received. If you have not received or misplaced your password, please contact Lennard at (702) 873-8508 and he will issue you a new one. Lennard also commented that he is available to assist you.

Vice President: Marsha Borders informed membership that they could pay and register for the Annual Awards Banquet on-line or by mail. Price is $70 per person.

Ken Ackeret announced upcoming events:
Ken invited Bob and Jan Humphrey to come up and talk about the Vette-Together Winery event, they commented what a success the winery run event was. Ken thanked Bob and Jan for a great event. Lennard accidently scrapped his Corvette at the event and received a rousing Club Salute. October 18-20th is the Haunted Ghost Train Run to Ely, Nevada and costumes are encouraged. October 27th is Breakfast in the Park starting at 9a.m. this event is a community service for Street Teens. For more info, contact Sally McVane (702) 498-4061 for items needed. November 10th is Vette-Together at Temple Bar, Arizona. Meet at Railroad Pass parking lot. November 24th is the Findlay Thanksgiving Car Show. For more info, contact Scott Mergele at (702) 528-4537. December 7th is Adopt-A-Kettle for Salvation Army, this is a community service event 10a.m. to 7p.m. Contact Brenda and Jimmy Cavallo to volunteer and sign-up for an one-hour time slot. December 13th is the Cookie Exchange hosted by Sandra Hart from noon to 4p.m. Bring 3 dozen cookies for exchanging and 1 dozen to share for tasting. Ken is looking for a volunteer to host a New Year's Eve party.

Miscellaneous Announcements: Connie Gentry is proud to announce, she won the clean car award from the Street Car Club.

Clean Car Award: Roy Horenke presented Slim Stephens with the award for this month. Badge Drawing: Ken Fiorentino won the badge drawing, he was not present. The pot will increase by another $5. 50/50: $175.00 won by Bonnie Corbett. Raffle were held.
