President Bonnie Corbett called the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m. Marlene Cunningham lead the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance. There were 54 members and 3 guests at the meeting tonight. Findlay Chevrolet: Slim Stephens and Ron Petersen announced the unveiling of the 2020 mid-engine Corvette was a huge success. Findlay with the help of LVCA had all the generations of the Corvette on displayed in the front of the dealership. Each LVCA member that had their generation car on display at the event was given a poster of the C-8 Corvette. Minutes: A motion was made by Jim Gregorio and 2nd by Jeff Blue to approve the August minutes. The motion was carried. Birthdays for September were read by Lin Hoernke. President's Report: There was no president report. Treasurer's Report: Connie Gentry said we are looking good financially and even better when membership renewals start rolling in. Old Business: By-laws: Carl Hastings presented the by-law to be voted on this evening. The vote was for adopting the propose By-law for discontinuing with NCCC Insurance and selecting another insurance. Discussion was held before the vote. The vote was not adopted. LVCA will continue with NCCC Insurance. Carl Hastings announced the By-laws for next month's vote. The first by-law change was submitted by Pat Russell. The proposed By-law is to reduce the reserves to $10,000.00 from the present amount of $26,000.00. A second by-law change for next month was submitted by Mike Borders. The proposed By-law is to establish an Associate Membership for individuals that don't have Corvettes. New Business: Introduction of guests and prospective members: Kathy Ackeret introduced the guests tonight, April Fischer, Charles and TiAnn Hildenstab. New members receiving their joining plaques tonight were Maria and Roy Hoernke III. Committee Reports: Connie Gentry filled in for Lennard Grodzinsky announcing the club is moving forward with our new website, where members may do all their business. Vice President: Marsha Borders announced the date for the annual awards banquet, it will be held on January 18th at the Liberace Mansion, starting at 6 p.m. and dinner 7 p.m. The cost is $70 per person. Election Committee: Sally McVane asked past elected officers to speak about their elected office descriptions and what is required of each position. events: Miscellaneous Announcements: Ken Ackeret announced the Las Vegas Concours d'Elegance is looking for volunteers on October 25th - 27th. If you are interested, see Ken after the meeting. Sandra Hart announced that she is hosting the Cookie Exchange again this year on December 14th, 12-4 p.m. Bonnie Corbett announced that Mecum is also looking for volunteers. If you are interested, see Bonnie after the meeting. Holley Holran announced she is selling her late husband's die cast car collection, over 300 to choose from starting at $10 each. Clean Car Award: Roy Hoernke presented Dan Painter with the award for this month. Badge Drawing: was won by Myrna Byrd, she received $45.
