The meeting was called to order by President Kathy Clapp at 7:35 PM at the Sun City MacDonald Ranch. There were 56 members and 3 guests present. Kathy Clapp welcomed everyone here tonight.
Findlay Chevrolet: Slim Stephens thanked us for all our referrals in the service department. Need help - call me. Doug Fleming Findlay Chevrolet General Manager stated that this is month 2 - he's back and so happy to be with us again. Doug Fleming informed us that they are having a Back Pack Drive for the Boys & Girls Club. Bring in a back pack by July 28th and receive a Findlay t-shirt and a Findlay bottle opener. He then wanted to mention and to reserve the date for the Findlay Frank's Thanksgiving Car Show, Saturday November 25th.
A motion to approve the June 8, 2017 meeting minutes - Nita Russell made the motion to approve as presented, Lanny Lowman seconded, motion carried, motion approved.

President's Report: Kathy Clapp asked for volunteers to serve on the 45th Anniversary (2018) Planning Committee. Linda Simpson volunteered. Kathy C. then stated that she had spoke to Todd Howell regarding the website. He stated that he is coming along with the updates and now is looking at the membership page to update.
Treasurer's Report: Connie Gentry stated that we are doing good. All financials are on the website. Still in a negative because of meeting room cost. We received a $300.00 check from Findlay Chevrolet, per our sponsor agreement from the Anderson's purchase of a new car from Findlay Chevrolet.

New Business: New Members and Guest were read by Julie Cantonwine. Guest this evening are Greg Jolley and Bill Wagner. We welcomed new members Ken & Jean Fiorentino, Chris & Scarla Burkett, Curt & Tina Russell and Larry & Catherine Creighton with their plaques. Kathy Clapp handed out a plaque to Scott Mergele for "Outstanding Vehicle" from the Findlay Car Show and a plaque to Carl & Bonnie Corbett from the Banquet for "Best Invitational Event" in 2016
Committee Reports: Sunshine: Lin Hoernke reported that Holley Holran is recuperating from an infection. Bob O'Brien had microscopic reconstruction knee surgery. Today was his first day of therapy. Drag Racing: Lanny Lowman stated the next drag race is 9/23 - an evening race. Racer's Edge: Lanny Lowman handed out trophies from the June Bracket Drags: 2nd Place to Chris Burkett and 1st Place to Scott Mergele. Everyone is welcome to come out and watch or ride along with a driver, and of course all are welcome to join Racers Edge.
Upcoming Events. Denise Karpa brought Kathy Clapp forward to report that this Saturday is the LVCA Painting Party, 2:00 PM at the home of Ken Ackeret & Kathy Clapp. Skip Kelley reported on Cars & Coffee that the event is Saturday before the monthly meetings. Meet cool people, see cool cars, drive a lap on the track, win a ride along and park in the shade. This past month's ride a long was won by Gary Moore. Connie Gentry informed us that the Mt. Charleston Getaway is Saturday, 8/26. Meet at Santa Fe Casino parking lot at 9:45 AM, depart at 10 AM. Lunch is all inclusive for $17.00 - cash except for bar drinks. Community Service is $5.00 for the Mt. Charleston Volunteer Fire Department. Barbara Belak came forward and stated that the Silver State Classic Challenge is 9/14-17 in Ely, NV. We will be having 10 driver's and navigator's this year. Volunteers are still needed to help with tire inspection at the race. This year will be the 30th Anniversary of the Silver State Classic Challenge. Scott Mergele presented the Prescott Vette Sette Corvette Club Car Show on 9/22-24 in Prescott, AZ. Friday night is a meet and greet, Saturday is the car show. 250 will be welcome to participate this year. Register on line. He has reserved a block of rooms for LVCA at the Prescott Resort & Casino. Call them directly and tell them you are with LVCA. Denise Karpa told of the Desert Thunder Charity Event on Saturday, 9/30 at Buffalo Bill's Casino in Primm. This event is sponsored by California and Nevada Law Enforcement. This is a Community Service event for the Children's Charity. Roy Hoernke came forward and informed us of the Show & Shine Car Show on Saturday, 9/30 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He will let us know when more information is available. Ken Ackeret came forward to inform us of the Monster Mash Car Bash on Saturday, 10/21. This is a Halloween themed event, so decorate your car and dress up yourself and bring candy for the kids to hand out. This is also a Community Service event. Denise Karpa then stated that we are still in need of events. If you have any ideas or suggestions please contact Denise Karpa.
Miscellaneous Announcements: Rex Wilhoite told of the 12th Annual Cruise on 2/4/2018, sponsored by West Coast & Road Runner Corvette Clubs. You can register online. Victor Rodriguez, Jr. mentioned that Sema is coming soon. If you are interested in attending, he needs your name for passes. Dave Smith reported that his 2000 Bowling Green Millennium Corvette won 1st Place People's Choice at the "M" Resort Car Show. He received $500.00 and a large trophy. Pat Russell informed us that the WCCC Convention for 2017 is being held here in Vegas. He has flyers on the tables and you can register on line. Julie Cantonwine stated that Southern Nevada Sport Hall of Fame, Sam Schmidt is on the Jay Leno garage show. Very interesting and well worth you watching.
Clean Car Award: Roy Hoernke and Terry Culp reported that this month was won by Bill Thomas. Badge Drawing: Was not won tonight 50/50: $142.00 was won this month by Todd Howell. Raffles: were held.
A motion to adjourn: Denise Karpa made a motion to adjourn which was seconded by Lin Hoernke. The motion carried and motion approved. The meeting adjourned at 8:52 PM.
