The meeting was called to order by President Kathy Clapp at 7:30 PM at the Sun City MacDonald Ranch. There were 44 members and 8 guests present. Kathy Clapp welcomed everyone here tonight.
Julie Cantonwine welcomed our guest tonight, Chris Pietrafeso, from the Animal Foundation. He thanked the club for having him here and for all the donations. The Animal Foundation was founded in 1978 and the shelter opened in 1995 which cared for 18,000 animal that first year. Last year (2016) that number grew to 29,000 He stated that the 4th of July was a busy time for the shelter. Many animals are frightened and get loose or run away and brought in. All your donations mean so much to the shelter and to the staff, thank you.
Findlay Chevrolet: Slim Stephens thanked us for all our referrals in the service department. Need help - call me. The best thing happening is a new General Manager - he is enthusiastic for us (LVCA). Thank you for all your support and referrals, now here is Doug Fleming, our new General Manager. Doug Fleming stated that he has been with Findlay for over 16 years, 9 with Chevrolet. He is so happy to be back and working with us. Kathy Clapp thanked both Slim Stephens and Doug Fleming for all they do as our sponsor. She then handed out a plaque with Doug Fleming assisting to Denise Karpa from the Findlay Car Show.
A motion to approve the May 11, 2017 meeting minutes - Scarlett Stuart made the motion to approve as presented, Sharron Grodzinsky seconded, motion carried, motion approved.

President's Report: Kathy Clapp stated that Todd Howell, our Webmaster, has the website up and running. He is currently working on event photos and those will be up shortly.
Treasurer's Report: Connie Gentry stated that we are doing good.

New Business: New Members and Guest were read by Lin Hoernke. Guest this evening are Ken & Jean Fioretino, Jerry & Sharon Wood, Curt & Tina Russell, Eben Rockmaker and Sara Graham. We welcomed new members Mike Pepper & Amanda Davis with their plaques.
Committee Reports: Vice-President: Rex Wilhoite stated that the Banquet will be upon us soon and he needs a committee of 8 to work with him in the planning. If you are interested in volunteering please email or give him a call. He also stated to everyone that when you print and sign in for an event or meeting to please write legibly. He uses these sheet to give you credit for all activities, Community Service and attendance. Sunshine: Terry Rees welcomed Roy Hoernke back and thanked him for his card. Jim Weeks was up at Silver State, he is recovering greatly. Nita Russell is doing well, 4 more weeks of recovery. Drag Racing: Ken Rees stated that the Bracket Drags are done for the summer, the next drag is September 23rd. May 13th Bracket Drags: 1st Place - Lanny Lowman SP and 2nd Place - Chris Burkette BT Racer's Edge: Lanny Lowman handed out trophies for the May 13th Bracket Drags: 1st Place - Lanny Lowman SP and 2nd Place - Chris Burkette BT NORC, May 21st 1 trophy for 3 entrants - 145 MPH Class - Gary Moore, 150 MPH Class - Ken Rees and 155 MPH Class - Lanny Lowman. Lanny Lowman then gave a shout-out to the volunteers who came up and worked: Rick Bolin, Pat Russell, John Kindell, Mike & Marsha Borders, Skip Kelley, Ken & Terry Rees and myself. Trophies for the June 3rd Bracket Drags were: 1st Place - Scott Mergele SP, 2nd Place - Jerry Cline BT and 3rd Place - Mike Kerro SP. The next Autocross will be in October. Everyone is welcome to come out and watch or ride along with a driver, and of course all are welcome to join Racers Edge. Store Keepers - Jim & Patty Annis announced they have 3 Pets & Vettes, XL T-shirts discounted for $5.00 each - they all sold immediately. Club Polo Shirts are $65.00 and Club T-Shirts are $25.00
Upcoming Events. Denise Karpa reported on the Cars & Coffee coming up on 7/8, 8/5, & 9/9 at Speed Vegas. Easy way to remember the Cars & Coffee are always the Saturday before our General Monthly Meeting. We have covered parking, drawing for 1 ride along and we do a parade lap on the course. Kathy Clapp reported that she and Ken Ackeret are chairing a LVCA Art Painting Party at their home. This will be on Saturday, 7/15 at 2:00 PM, $30.00 per painter but all are welcome.. The art will be a winding road with a Corvette. Connie Gentry reported on the Mt. Charleston Luncheon on Saturday, 8/26. Lunch is $17.00 (complete) cash. Meet at the Santa Fe Casino at 9:30 AM, leaving at 10 AM. This is a Community Service Event, all monies going to the Mt. Charleston Volunteer Fire Department, $5.00 per person. Denise Karpa reported on the Silver State Race on the week-end of 9/14-17 in Ely, NV. This event is chaired by Barbara & Ray Belak. For more information on racing or volunteer please email or call them. This is a Community Service event. Denise Karpa reported on the Prescott Vette Sette All Corvette Car Show on Sept. 22 - 23, 2017 She informed us that you need to register, on line, ASAP because they are only accepting 250 cars. This is a Community Service Event. For more information please contact Scott Mergele. Denise Karpa stated don't hesitate if you have any ideas for an event, give her a call or email her anytime.
Miscellaneous Announcements: Denise Karpa reported on 2 car shows that we have been asked to attend: The "M" Casino Car Show on Saturday 6/10, 4- 10 PM. Registration fee is waived for us. Meet at the Blue Hawk Tavern at 3:30 PM to drive in together. Also we were invited by Frank & Carol Gagliardi to come up and attend the Deer Creek Village Car Show on Saturday, 6/17. Both of these events, if possible, would like to be a yearly sanctioned event in the future. Skip Kelley came forward and reminded us that the first Corvette drove off the line in Flint, MI on 6/30/53 - so drive your Corvette to work or out for a drive on this day. Also he stated that he will be having a 4th of July party at his home. He will have hamburgers & hot dogs, bring a dish to share.
Clean Car Award: Roy Hoernke and Tommy DeGennaro reported that this month was won by Terry Culp. Badge Drawing: Nancy Ledwon won this month, $30.00 50/50: $121.00 was won this month by Rex Wilhoite. Raffles: were held.
A motion to adjourn: Linda Simpson made a motion to adjourn which was seconded by Ken Rees. The motion carried and motion approved. The meeting adjourned at 8:58 PM.
