The meeting was called to order by President Kathy Clapp at 7:30 PM at the Sun City MacDonald Ranch. There were 59 members and 9 guests present. Kathy Clapp welcomed everyone here tonight. A motion to approve the April 2017 meeting minutes - Benita Klaizner made the motion to approve as presented, Jimmy Cavallo seconded, motion carried, motion approved. Birthday's were read by Holley Holran. President's Report: Kathy Clapp stated that she met with Pat Russell and Todd Howell this week regarding the website. Todd Howell is currently downloading the LVCA website information and will start working on updating the website. Our current website is 20+ years old and we'll need to update the system in the near future. We'll keep you all posted. The 2017 "Prez Logo" Club Pins are in, if you did not receive your pin yet, please come by after the meeting and get yours. Treasurer's Report: Connie Gentry stated that we are doing good. She also reminded us that when you buy a car at Findlay we get cash back and also for referrals. Kathy Clapp mentioned, Scott Mergele referred Jack Gordon, who bought a new Corvette Stingray. Old Business: None New Business: New Members and Guest were read by Julie Cantonwine. Guest this evening are Jack Gordon, Berry Lowman, Curt & Tina Russell, Darryl Walker, Larry & Catherine Creighton, Amanda Davis and Mike Depper. Committee Reports: Sunshine: Terry Rees informed us that Roy Hoernke is making a good recovery after surgery. Jim Weeks was in the hospital for heart valve surgery, he is now home and recovering nicely. A card from Nita Russell for all our thoughts and prayers after 2 foot surgeries. Drag Racing: Ken Rees stated that the 2nd Drag Race was held with good lights and close races: 1st Place was Lanny Lowman and 2nd Place (for her first win) was Connie Gentry. To all new members and visitors, Ken Rees informed us that everyone is welcome to come out and watch. Racer's Edge: Lanny Lowman handed out a trophy to Connie Gentry. It is only $40.00 to join and there are 12 events this year. Upcoming Events. Denise Karpa called Ron Petersen who reported that the Findlay Car Show will be on Saturday May 13th, 9 AM - 3 PM at the Silverton Casino. He also stated that we need members to participate in this car show because this is being presented by our Sponsor. This is a Community Service Event. Ken Rees came forward to remind us that the Nevada Open Road Race will be May 18-21, this is the 30th Anniversary. This is a Community Service Event. Skip Kelley reported on the next 3 Cars & Coffee's coming up: 6/3, 7/8, and 8/5. 7 AM at Speed Vegas, covered parking, lap around the track and a drawing each month for 1 ride along. Julie Cantonwine reported on Christmas in June will be at the General Meeting on June 8th, see the flyer on the tables for a list of items that the animal shelter needs, and bring your items to the meeting. The Animal Shelter has stated that the busiest time is over the July 4th holiday. This is a Community Service Event. Connie Gentry reported on the Mt. Charleston Luncheon on Saturday, August 26th. Lunch is $17.00 (complete) cash. Meet at the Santa Fe Casino at 9:30 AM, leaving at 10 AM. This is a Community Service Event, all monies going to the Mt. Charleston Volunteer Fire Department, $5.00 per person. Scott Mergele came forward to tell us of the Prescott Vette Sette All Corvette Car Show on Sept. 22 - 23, 2017 Scott Mergele informed us that you need to register ASAP because they are only accepting 250 cars. This is a Community Service Event. Denise Karpa stated don't hesitate any ideas, give her a call or email her anytime. Miscellaneous Announcements: Ken Rees stated that Findlay also has great deals on trucks. Jerry Lawrence stated his band will be playing at Stoney's in Town Square on Saturday, May 13th, 11 AM - 2 PM. Darrell Wood has 73 Big Block motor parts for sale. He also has a 7 x 16 foot master trailer for sale. Jim Smiciklas is looking for power seats assembly for a C4. Clean Car Award: Scott Mergele and Marsha Borders reported that this month was won by Tommy DeGennaro. Badge Drawing: Lin Hoernke was not present tonight. Badge drawing will be $30 next month. 50/50: $143.00 was won this month by Kathy Clapp. Raffles: were held.
