The meeting was called to order by President Kathy Clapp at 7:30 PM at the Sun City MacDonald Ranch. There were 46 members and 11 guests present. Kathy Clapp welcomed everyone here tonight. Findlay Chevrolet: Slim Stephens had to leave for a family emergency. Kathy Clapp made an announcement that Findlay Chevrolet was one of the top 50 Corvette Dealer's in the Nation for 2016. They ranked 33 out of 50 and sold 89 Corvettes last year. Before Slim Stephens had to leave he talked to Julie Cantonwine in regards to the C6. Kathy Clapp called Julie Cantonwine forward and she stated that the C6's are having a problem of a fuel leak. General Motors had become aware of this and will take care of this if your Corvette is under 10 years old. If you can not get this fixed, call General Motors directly and raise cane with them. A motion to approve the February 2017 meeting minutes - Bob O'Brien made the motion to approve as presented, Jerry Lawrence seconded, motion carried, motion approved. Birthday's were read by Terry Rees. President's Report: Kathy Clapp reported that the Audit Committee has concluded their audit. They praised Connie Gentry for her extra effort. All accounts were balanced. The Audit Committee also appreciated the E-Board for following the recommendations from last year. No taxes for 2016 Treasurer's Report: Connie Gentry is out tonight, Kathy Clapp reported money is good. See her after the meeting for the complete report for viewing. Old Business: None New Business: New Members and Guest were read by Julie Cantonwine. Guest this evening are Richard Chute, Margaret Chute, Linda Smith, Bill Bradley, Chris Burkett, Scarla Burkett, Scott Rayer, Paul Montazer, June Kerr, Robb Kerr and John McKenzie. Kathy Clapp stated that she received a call from Mike Frizzell and he resigned as the Webmaster. He was sorry but just felt to overwhelmed with it. Kathy Clapp spoke to Todd Howell, he has volunteered to take over as our new Webmaster. Kathy Clapp asked for a motion to accept Todd Howell as Webmaster, Skip Kelley made the motion to accept as presented, and seconded by Barbara Belak. The motion was carried and approved. Committee Reports: Sunshine: Terry Rees informed us that Sherrie Wood lost her younger brother, also that her son had his appendix removed. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts. Terry Rees then informed us that Holley Holran was feeling great and is cancer free. Racer's Edge: Lanny Lowman stated Ken Rees won 1st Place for 2016. Drag Racing: Ken Rees reported that the first drag race will be 3/18. Upcoming Events. Denise Karpa called Kathy Clapp forward to report on the President's Run...Kathy Clapp reported there was lots of rain, mudslides, flooding and rock slides. But we managed to have a great week-end in the town Tehachapi, CA. We fed Ostrich's at the Ostrich Farm, went to a Brewery and tasted their beer, went to a Railroad Museum and a Historical Museum. Had great food at a German Bakery and a Steak House and of course a great Pub. Denise Karpa called Benita Klaizner forward who stated that this Saturday, 3/11, is the St. Patrick's Day Parade. We will be staging again this year at the Mormon Church at 8:15 AM $5.00 per person for this Community Service, all proceeds going to the St. Baldrick's Foundation in honor of Lindsey Ledwon, Dennis & Nancy Ledwon grand-daughter. Benita Klaizner then informed us that she is chairing a tour of the Casa de Shenandoah mansion and museum on Saturday, 4/15 at 2 PM, a two hour tour. Group Rate is $41.00 or $47.00 for the mansion, museum and horse stables. Meet at Town Center to caravan. Then have lunch together at a near by Mexican Restaurant. Skip Kelley informed us that Cars & Coffee are the first Saturday before the General Meeting every month. These are held at Speed Vegas, where we have covered parking, participate in the Parade Laps and a drawing for a Ride-A-Long just for us. Meet there at 6:30 AM. Scott Mergele informed us that the 2nd Annual Findlay Car Show on Saturday, 5/13 at the Silverton Casino. This is a Community Service event for the YMCA, $15.00 per car. Remember that this is our sponsor and that we need to show our support to them. Barbara Belak reported that everything is in place for the Nevada Open Road Race on 5/18-21 in Ely. Denise Karpa stated that we need more events and she would be happy to help anyone with preparing or setting up an event. Miscellaneous Announcements: Jerry Lawrence reported that their St. Patrick's Day event was cancelled. He then stated that they play every Monday at the Grand Hotel, 10 PM - 1 AM, no cost. Skip Kelley informed us that the NCRS will be hosting a meeting on Saturday, 3/11 regarding them coming to Las Vegas, 1 - 3 PM. He also reported that he will be hosting a Valley of Fire Pot Luck, with fellowship and music on Saturday, 3/18 Clean Car Award: Scott Mergele and Marsha Borders reported that this month was won by Gary Moore Badge Drawing: no winner this month. 50/50: $140.00 was won this month by Benita Klaizner.
