The meeting was
called to order by President Kathy Clapp at 7:31 PM at the McDonald
Ranch Clubhouse Banquet Room. She thanked everyone for coming tonight.
There were 69 members and 7 guests present.
Findlay Chevrolet:
Slim Stephens thanked the membership for their continued support
for our sponsor, Findlay Chevrolet. He also announced that Findlay Chevrolet
will be our sponsor for 2017! Slim thanked Paul for his great work for
Findlay & LVCA members. He urges anyone who needs something done
to please let him know so that he can facilitate the job. Benita Klaizner
thanked Findlay Chevrolet for treating her so well in getting her car
fixed. She also thanked the Findlay for the help they gave her daughter
in buying a Chevy Tahoe. THANK YOU FINDLAY!
Motion to approve
the October 13, 2016 minutes: Jerry Lawrence made the motion to
approve the minutes as written; Jim Annis seconded. Motion passed.
Birthdays
for the month of November were read by Benita Klaizner. Benita's Grandson,
Diego, helped pass out Birthday drink tickets. His 6th birthday will
be November 30th. Slim Stephens mentioned that his Mom, a LVCA member
from 1972-1984, will have her birthday on November 20th. Slim's birthday
will be November 23rd. Slim says that anyone who shows up at Findlay
on November 23rd will get a FREE oil change! Julie Cantonwine mentioned
that 2 new members also have November birthdays, Roger Wagner on the
24th & Christian Nuss on the 28th.
Treasurer's
Report: Kathy gave the treasurer's report. She has a copy of it
if anyone would like to see it. With 2017 dues coming in, the budget
is balancing out. She reminded everyone that they can find up-to-date
information about the budget on the website in the members only section.
President Report:
Kathy thanked Slim & Paul for their continued support to LVCA. Ron
Petersen, Scott Mergele & Kathy met with Jamaal McCoy, General Manager
of Findlay. He let them know that Findlay would continue as LVCA sponsor
for 2017. Kathy mentioned that she received a report from the nominating
committee, Cindy Fuller, Benita Klaizner & Linda Simpson, about
members that would be interested in running for Eboard positions for
2017.
Old Business:
Kathy announced that Sharron & Lennard Grodzinsky won 1st place
in the Tuacahn Rallye & Scavenger Hunt. They came forward to receive
their awards since they were absent at last month's meeting. Lennard
also won 2nd place in the Animal Alphabet Game.
New Business:
Introduction of New & Prospective Members: Julie Cantonwine
introduced our guests for the evening: Diego Klaizner, Sean Rodriguez,
Michelle Cox, Mark Fetto, Clyde Carley, Dave Smith & Bill Bradley.
Julie announced the 5 new members receiving their plaques & name
badges: Christian Nuss & Hannah Clement, Roger Wagner, Todd Howell
& Scott White.

Committee Reports:
Sunshine: Terry Rees thanked Brenda Cavallo for selling raffle tickets
tonight. Holley Holran is under the weather due to her 1st Chemotherapy
treatment yesterday. Terry will contact her & let her know that
we are all on Team Holley! Anniversaries this month are: Kay & Ron
Petersen-61 YEARS! & Jackie & Tim Fleenor-7 years! Congratulations
to you all and many, many more! Terry mentioned that today is the 241st
Birthday of the United States Marine Corps! Forever Marines, Gary Moore
& Ken DePiero, stood while members sang Happy Birthday to all Leathernecks!
Terry asked All Veterans to stand to be recognized & thanked for
Your Service!
Upcoming Events:
Past Events from October & early November were One Hero at a Time,
Homecoming Support, Monster Mash Car Bash, CA Coastal Cruise & Cars
& Coffee.
New Events: Scott Mergele spoke about the Vettes for Vets Car
Show on November 11th from 10am to 2pm at the Hard Rock Cafe, Harmon
& Paradise. This is a community service event to benefit the Shine
Foundation that supports local veterans. Entry fee is $10. All money
goes to the Shine Foundation. There will be raffles, trophies &
discounted food & beverages. Staging of cars begins at 8:30am. Contact
Scott if you are interested. There will be a Cowboy Brunch & St
Jude's Ranch Children's Gift Giving on November 12th starting at 11
am located at Hemenway Valley Park, Boulder City. Bonnie Corbett is
chairing this Mossyback sponsored event. It is a Member Appreciation
Brunch & community service event. Christmas gifts for the children
will be collected & delivered after the brunch. The cost of the
brunch will be $15 per person. LVCA Members who attend the Brunch will
receive their money back at the event. Brunch will be served starting
at 11:30am. Following this will be games, photos & FUN! Attire is
Western! Scott spoke about the Findlay CAR-NACOPIA Classic Car &
Truck Show on November 19th at the Silverton Casino from 10am to 2pm.
This is a community service event. Entry fee is $15. All money will
benefit the Crohns & Colitis Foundation of America. Members are
encouraged to support our sponsor! RE#18 MTT Autocross at LVMS-SCCA
will be November 20th. This is the last Autocross of the year for Racer's
Edge. Lanny will try to have a meeting in December to discuss the future
of Racer's Edge. An Email will be sent with the information. Cars &
Coffee will be December 3rd & January 7th. It is always the Saturday
before our General Membership Meeting. It is at a NEW LOCATION-at SPEED
VEGAS, 14200 Las Vegas Blvd South (2-miles south of the M Resort). It
starts a 7am, but if you want to park with LVCA, be there early! Come
out & enjoy great cars & great company! Skip also mentioned
that following the December 3rd Cars & Coffee, at 10:30am, there
will be a Garage Gang at Pat Russell's. All the information is on the
Website. The December 10th Dyno Day Shootout has been postponed at this
time. The Cookie Exchange will be on December 11th at Jim & Dawn
Gregorio's from 11am to 3pm with the exchange at 1pm! Cost will be $7/person.
If you wish to exchange cookies, bring 3 dozen. Extra cookies are always
welcome for sampling! Chili, snacks, water & soda will be provided.
Brenda Cavallo asked members to Save-the-Date for the Adopt-a-Kettle
Event on December 17th from 8am to 5pm located at the Smith's, 6855
N Aliante Pkwy. This is a community service event with all the proceeds
going to the Salvation Army. See Brenda for signup times & to ring
that Bell! Annual Awards Banquet will be January 21st at Sunset Gardens
starting at 6 pm. Cost will be $45/member & $50/nonmember. Cocktail
attire is the dress of the evening. Invitations will be in the mail
soon. SAVE THE DATE, Saturday, January 21, 2017! Laps for Charity will
be Sunday, January 29th at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Connie Gentry
will have more information in December. For more details on all events
see the Vetter & the Website. Remember, anyone can plan and present

Miscellaneous Announcements: Kathy announced that she has a gift
for everyone on the stage. Please come forward after the meeting to
pick up a pin that has your name on it. This is a reminder of this year's
logo. Dave Smith mentioned the Parade of Lights at Lake Mead on December
3rdin the evening. Rex Wilhoite mentioned the great cruise that 27 members
& friends went on. He found a necklace by his mail box & wanted
to know if anyone lost it from the cruise. See Rex if it's yours.
Clean Car Award was won by Joel Thies with his 2001 Red Convertible.
Badge Drawing:
Sharron Grodzinsky won $30 for wearing her name badge. Next month's
drawing will be $25.

Tucker had the winning ticket for $187.
Raffle was
conducted with the items from our sponsor, Findlay Chevrolet and from
