The meeting was called to order by President Kathy Clapp at 7:36 PM at the McDonald Ranch Clubhouse Banquet Room. She thanked everyone for coming tonight & mentioned that with several of our members up in Ely that our meeting would be a little more casual. There is also a few "housekeeping" reminders. If you haven't received your 2016 membership card, it is on the stage. Also on the stage are the remaining 2016 Banquet pictures; please look & pickup your card &/or picture if you haven't done so. There were 43 members and 2 guests present. Findlay Chevrolet: Slim mentioned the $2000 Owner Loyalty Rebate if you buy a new 2016 C7. This offer is good through May 31st. He also announced that Findley finally has the Z06 intakes in stock. Slim is willing to help LVCA members any way he can. If you bring your car in, Slim will do everything he can to "push" us to the front of the line. Quick in & out! He thanked us for our support & stated that Findley is proud to be our sponsor! Slim also mentioned Russ Galpin who called him on his 80th birthday. He wanted to say "Hi" to LVCA & was very happy that Slim was still involved with LVCA. A toast to Russ, a great guy! Motion to approve the April 14, 2016 minutes: Brenda Cavallo made the motion to approve the minutes as written; Carl Corbett seconded. Motion passed. Birthdays for the month of May were read by Roy Hoernke. Treasure's Report: Connie reported that current financial report is on the website. If anyone wants to see the current financial statements, please see Connie to view them. They are always available. President Report: Kathy mentioned the $2000 Rebate that only lasts until May 31st. She has emailed the information to everyone, & it is on the website. She also reported on the trip to the National Corvette Museum that she & Ken A took. They turned in all the paperwork, graphics & check for our club banner that will be displayed at the NCM. There will be a proposed Bylaw change presented next month in the Vetter & on the Website. It will be voted on in June. Old Business: There is a proposed Bylaw Change presented in the Vetter & on the Website. Events Coordinator Roy Hoernke introduced the upcoming events. Nevada
Open Road Challenge is May 12th-15th in Ely, NV. This is RE#7 &
#8. Cars and Coffee will be on June 4th & July 9th at 7am.
Location is Sansone Park Place Shopping Center on Eastern, south of
the 215. Roy stated more information is in the Vetter & on the Website.
MTT Autocross/SCCA RE#9 will be June 5th. Marvin Maize stated
that there needs to be more Corvettes out for Autocross! MTT Autocross/SCCA
RE#11 will be at NIGHT on July 23rd at the Silverton Hotel &
Casino. Check the Website for more details. COME OUT & PLAY WITH
US! Drags (RE#10) at LVMS on June 11th will be the last Drag
Race of the year. See Ken Rees, the Vetter or the Website for more information.
Big Bear Bash-Round-Up is June 23rd-26th in Big Bear, CA presented
by Corvettes West. Kathy Clapp & Ken Ackeret are chairing this event.
Ken explained about the registration packet on the Website. Kathy &
Ken plan a caravan on Thursday June 23 to allow everyone time to rest
up for all the weekend activities. There will be a Horseshoe Rallye,
Car Show, Autocross, Caravan around Big Bear Lake, Dinner with Awards,
Western Costume Contest, Corvette Club Trivia & a Poker Rallye.
Participate in all events or just relax in the cool mountain climate!
Robinhood Resort is where most events will take place. Unfortunately
Robinhood is all booked. Check with Kathy or Ken about other accommodations.
Register & get accommodations ASAP! The Mossybacks of Vegas Vettes
Tuacahn 2016 will caravan to Mesquite, NV & bus ride to St George/Tuacahn
on September 10th & 11th. Tarzan is the production! Denise has a
limited number of tickets, so sign up quickly. After arriving in Mesquite,
we'll have lunch, check in to the hotel & enjoy the afternoon before
we bus to Tuacahn. On Sunday there will be free time. Activities are
still in the planning stages. So if you have any ideas, let Denise know.

also mentioned that new members & long time members need to think
about sponsoring events. Don't be afraid to plan an event! We are the
Club! Roy was contacted about the Super Toy Convention & Die
Cast Hall of Fame Ceremony at the Orleans, August 5th-7th. We still
need a chairperson for this event! They are asking for cars to be in
a show from Friday (check-in 10am to 2pm) through Sunday. Cars will
be in a secure area, & there will be security! There will be no
cost to enter. The only stipulation is the car must remain on display
Friday through Sunday. Each entrant will receive 1 free pass. There
will be 10 awards with classes to be determined. If you are interested,
contact Roy. Roy & Connie Gentry will co-chair the 2nd Annual
Show & Shine Car Show on October 1st at the LV Motor Speedway.
This is a Charity Event for the Speedway's Children's Charity. They
are looking for 400 cars, & there will be categories for all the
cars. The top 25 cars will do a lap around the speedway just before
the Truck Race. Fee will be $30, plus there will 4 free tickets for
the race given to each entry. This will be a community service event
for the club. Roy reminded all members that if you put on an event,
make sure everyone signs-in & turn in the sign-in sheets ASAP! Remember,
anyone can plan & present an event. See Roy to get details! Badge Drawing: Edward Neumann was not present. Next month's drawing will be $55. 50/50: Bill Thomas had the winning ticket for $75. Raffle was conducted with the items from our sponsor, Findlay Chevrolet & from members. Raffle prize winners were Joel T, Ron P, Brenda C, Roy H, Linda S, Victor R Jr, Kay P, Bonnie C, Ken D, Carl C, Rex W, Darryl W, Connie G & Bill C.
