The meeting was called to order by President Kathy Clapp
at 7:00PM at the McDonald Ranch Clubhouse Banquet Room. She thanked
everyone for coming here tonight. There were 57 members and 5 guests
present.
Findlay Chevrolet: Slim Stephens, said that he
is very pleased that Findlay Chevrolet is our sponsor and looks forward
to providing LVCA members service that they deserve.
Motion to approve the December 2015 minutes:
Scott Mergele made the motion to approve as written, Skip Kelley seconded,
motion passed and approved.
Treasurer's Report: Connie Gentry reported that
the monthly Treasurer's Report is on the website in the Members Only
section.
Birthdays: For the month of January were read
by Lin Hoernke.
President Report: Kathy Clapp welcomed everyone
and was pleased that we are continuing our relationship with Findlay
Chevrolet. LVCA has signed an agreement with McDonald Ranch regarding
having our monthly General Membership Meeting in their facility for
calendar year 2016. The Welcome Committee has been reinstituted to make
guests and new members comfortable - Randy and Jan Watson, Ingrid O'Brien,
and Judy Hastings have volunteered, however more members would be appreciated.
Connie, Holley and Kathy are formulating the budget for 2016 and they
will have a presentation at the February General Membership Meeting.
The ballots for the 2016 LVCA Officer Election held at the December
General Membership Meeting were sealed and will be destroyed by the
2015 Secretary. Kathy also presented her logo for 2016 - a Yellow C7
Corvette with the LVCA logo and the theme, "Enjoying the Corvette
Dream in 2016".

Kathy was pleased to announce that Jim and Patty Annis have volunteered
to be LVCA Storekeepers for 2016. President Kathy Clapp introduced the
new Board members and the new Committee Chairpersons.

Sharron Grodzinsky motioned to approve and accept the new board members.
Mark Wynne seconded the motion and the motion carried.
Introduction of New & Prospective Members:
Julie Cantonwine reported we have 164 members. The guests tonight are;
David Holmes, Mike Harman, Mike Frizzell, Bill Reeves and Larry Henrichsen.
Joining tonight is Rich Brion.
Committee Reports:
Sunshine: Terry Rees thanked LVCA for our participation/condolences
at Dave Karpa's memorial service. She announced sadly that Ken and Kay
had lost their son last month. She read a thank-you card from Janice
Gregorius regarding LVCA's condolences and support for the loss of her
husband, Jim. She congratulated Pat & Nita Russell on becoming GrandParents
for the 6th time yesterday and recognized the following wedding anniversaries;
Tucker's #6, Wynne's #43 and Rees' #31.
Community Service: Brenda Cavallo thanked the members that participated
in LVCA's last Community Service event, Adopt-A-Kettle, with the Salvation
Army at Smith's Aliante supermarket where as bell ringers we collected
$1012.47 in our bucket. This bucket location normally collects $400
- $500. Brenda said, "We make this a year for others" in 2016.
Racer's Edge Series: Lanny Lowman announced that we will have 18
events this year. The competition winner will be the member with the
highest number of points for the best 10 out of 18. The drag racing
and autocross dates are still being determined. The Racers' Edge fee
remains $40.
Drag Racing: Ken Rees presented the plaques to the members that
were inducted into the Horsepower Club - Ron Petersen, Pat Russell and
Rick Bolin for 400HP, Mike Kerro for 500HP, Lanny Lowman for 600HP,
and Scott Mergele and Gary Moore for 700HP.
Upcoming Events: Events Chair Roy Hoernke - Reminded folks putting
on events to have pictures taken for the website and Newsvetter. Skip
Kelley spoke about the upcoming Garage Gang at Ralph Terry's this Saturday;
the next GG will be at John Fuller's, and in the future a GG a GG will
be at Skip's - raising the walls of his new shop. Skip also reminded
us about attending Cars and Coffee, the Saturdays before our monthly
General Membership Meetings. Connie Gentry spoke about Laps for Charity
on January 31st. We'll meet by the old Shelby's facility at LVMS at
9AM and you can sign up and pay online. Bonnie Corbett presented all
the details for the Super Bowl Party at Bob and Sally McVane's on February
7th.
Miscellaneous Announcements: Ken Rees has some
C5 Z06 tires to give away. Linda Simpson announced that her new 2016
Z06 Convertible is out in the parking lot and that she has a C5 exhaust
system for sale. Scott Mergele told us that the next President's Run
will probably occur in June.
Clean Car Award: Was won by Tommy DeGennaro.
Badge Drawing: Randy Watson was present with
his badge on and received $20.
50/50: Ken Ackeret had the winning ticket for
$135.
Raffle: Was conducted with the items from our
sponsor, Findlay Chevrolet.
Motion to Adjourn: Was made by Scarlett Stuart,
seconded by Linda Simpson. The motion carried and was passed. The meeting
was adjourned by President Kathy Clapp at 8:30PM.
