General Membership Meeting - February 12, 2015 - Minutes

The meeting was called to order by President Scott Mergele at 7:30 PM at the Landings Restaurant. There were 67 members and 4 guests present. Scott Mergele welcomed everyone here tonight. He then stated to remember to support the Landings, buy food and tip well.

Findlay Chevrolet: Slim Stephens introduced Paul Patane, Findlay Corvette Mechanic. Slim Stephens thanked everyone for our loyalty and participation. He stated that Findlay is proud to support us and that they need us also.

A motion to approve the January 2015 meeting minutes - Bob O'Brien made the motion to approve as presented, Jim Gregorio seconded, motion passed, motion approved.

Birthday's were read by Julie Cantonwine.

Old Business: Charley Jones stated that the new and improved website is moving ahead. There will be event changes coming up. Bob O'Brien presented the crystal plaque to the club that we received for our Life Time Membership in NCM. He also stated that he has the 6 entrance free tickets for non-members of the NCM that would like to go. Skip Kelley will be writing an article for the NCM magazine that we also get with our membership.

New Business: Treasurer Connie Gentry presented the 2015 Budget to the membership. Mark Wynne made a motion to accept the 2015 Budget as presented, Nita Russell seconded, motion passed, motion approved. Introduction of New and Prospective Members: Ellie Johnson stated that we now have 196 members. Visitors tonight are Jim Abberger and Bob Knobloch. Joining tonight are Jackie & Tim Fleenor and Bill & Kathy Childs. Ellie Johnson then presented the 5 year pins to Skip Kelley, Judy Harrison and Russell Riner.

Committee Reports:

Sunshine:
Scarlett Stuart gave a report on the following members: Jim Gregorio had neck surgery on the 29th of January, he doing great. The O'Brien's have just had their 15th (combined) grandson, in Canada today. Ken & Terry Rees just picked up their new 2015 Z06 from the museum. She then stated that she just bought Charley Jones a new 2014 Coupe.

Storekeeper: Cindy Fuller presented the old club polo shirts that she has on hand, she has only size small available for $10.00. She also stated that she has sent in another order for the long sleeve t-shirts.

Racer's Edge/Drag Racing:
Roy Hoernke presented a plaque to Darrell Wood for 2nd Place in the Racer's Edge Matching Time Trials. The next events are 2/22 - Racer's Edge Autocross & 3/14 Drag Racing.

Upcoming Events.
Roy Hoernke brought up Scott Mergele to report on the President's Run. He stated this year we are going to San Diego, CA - 2/13-16, there are 42 members signed-up. Charley Jones & Scarlett Stuart reported that the next Classy Vettes Dining will be Friday 2/27, 6:30 PM at the Bootlegger, cash only and cocktail attire. Skip Kelley presented the next Garage Gang will be Saturday 2/27 at the home of John Fuller. He then stated that the North/West Gearhead Gathering will be Saturday, 3/8, the area of Cheyenne & Jones. Benita Klaizner stated that the St. Patrick's Day Parade will be Saturday, 3/14. Line up is from 8-9 AM She also is in need of 6 convertibles to drive the dignitaries at the beginning of the parade. $5.00 per person Community Service for St. Baldrick's. She also stated to bring snacks & goodies to share (cookies, bagels, donuts, etc.) coffee will be provided. Roy Hoernke presented the date for the following Classy Vettes Dining is 3/20, more info to come. Bill Thomas & Carl Corbett presented that our club has been tasked with doing the tech inspection for the NCCC Convention on 4/9-11. This will be held at the Silverton Casino & Hotel. They will be having car shows, low speed and high speed autocross, 2 rally's and a slot tournament. They asked for volunteers to work the tech. Everyone is invited to the conventions.

Miscellaneous Announcements:
Sally McVane reported she and Bob McVane will be having a planning meeting at their home on 2/19, 6:30 PM for the Boise Trip. Skip Kelley stated that his band - Alter'd Ego will be playing in the Railhead in Boulder Station on 3/7, 7 PM This is also his 55th birthday.

Clean Car Award: Larry Leard & Rich McSimov awarded this months winner to Benita Klaizner.

Badge Drawing:
was not won this month.

50/50:
was won by Mike Borders, he donated 1/2 of the winnings back to the club.

A motion to adjourn: Scott Mergele asked for a motion to adjourn which was made by Benita Klaizner and seconded by Sherrie Wood. The motion carried and passed. The meeting adjourned at 8:40 PM.
