The meeting was
called to order by President Scott Mergele at 7:30 PM in the Stallion
Mountain Golf Club Grill Room. There were 81 members and 7 guests present.
Scott Mergele welcomed everyone here tonight. Findlay Chevrolet: Slim Stephens said "thanks" to Ron Petersen & the Groves for buying their 15' Stingrays at Findlay. He then stated that the Findlay Thanksgiving Car Show is Saturday, November 22nd. For the rest of this month Slim Stephens is offering a total detail for our members for $80.00 If you need any diagnostics see Slim Stephens. A motion to approve the October 2014 meeting minutes - Bob O'Brien made the motion to approve as presented, Jim Gregorio seconded, motion passed, motion approved. Birthday's were read by Scott Mergele. President's Report: Scott Mergele informed us tonight is Election Nomination night. See Brenda Cavallo if your are in need of an absentee ballot. Scott Mergele stated that we now have $2,000.00 toward our goal to join the NCM. All we need is $500.00, hopefully we will be able to join by the end of the year. He then related that Cindy Fuller would like to be relieved of her Storekeeper position. If you are interested see Cindy Fuller of himself. On this same note, Jimmy Cavallo would like to be relieved of his Vetter position. If you are interested see Jimmy Cavallo or Scott Mergele. Old Business: Scott Mergele stated that a committee has been working on locating a new meeting place for us. They have a recommendation for us, this recommendation has been approved by the E-Board: the Landing Restaurant at the Henderson Executive Airport. They will open at 6:00 PM, dinner will be served till 7:15 PM. No fee for the room, dinners will range from $8 - 12. Skip Kelley made a motion to accept Landing Restaurant as our new meeting place, seconded by Denise Karpa. With a show of hands it was a unanimous accepted vote as our new meeting place, starting with our January 2015 General Membership Meeting New Business: Introduction of New and Prospective Members: Ellie Johnson stated that we now have 213 members. We have 175 paid for 2015, 17 no's, 5 outstanding and 7 no responses. Visitors tonight are Viki Gousios, Brigido Rodriquez, Michael Gatenby, Jerry & Beth Doerschlag, Bridget Edwards and Charles Jones. Joining tonight are James & Patty Annis, Edward Neumann and Charlie Jones. Scott Mergele informed us that we now have a new Webmaster - Charlie Jones. He would like to have a focus group to work with him, if you would like to volunteer for the group see Scott Mergele. Scott Mergele then gave a "Thank You" to Pat Russell for the work he has done as the Webmaster for the past 7 years. Scott Mergele also informed us that we have 2 volunteers as the SSCC Coordinators - Ray & Barbara Belak. The following election nominations were made to the floor: President - Scott Mergele & Skip Kelley A motion was made by Ken Rees and seconded by Lin Hoernke to accepted the nominations for President. Motion was passed, motion approved. Vice-President - Amy Groves & Ron Petersen A motion was made by Terry Rees and seconded by Joanne Maioli to accepted the nominations for Vice-President. Motion was passed, motion approved. Secretary - Brenda Cavallo A motion was made by Skip Kelley and seconded by Lanny Lowman to accepted the nominations for Secretary. Motion was passed, motion approved. Treasurer - Connie Gentry A motion was made by Lennard Grodzinsky and seconded by Sharron Grodzinsky to accepted the nominations for Treasurer. Motion was passed, motion approved. Director - Lin Hoernke A motion was made by Gino Montoya and seconded by Sharron Grodzinsky to accepted the nominations for Director. Motion was passed, motion approved. A motion was then made by Sherrie Wood and seconded by Nita Russell to close the nominations. Motion was passed, motion approved. All nominations are closed. Committee Reports: Racer's Edge: Lanny Lowman stated that for 1st Place in the October 19th Auto Cross was Gary Moore. He then stated that Racer's Edge had a great year and lots of fun. Sunshine: Terry Rees announced that we have lost a great member to cancer, Luanne Montoya, we will truly miss her. Steve Tucker lost his daughter Lisa to Lupus. Marvin Maize is back to work after his back surgery. Patti Maize is having foot surgery soon. Terry & Ken Rees thanked everyone who signed the shirt for their son Mike that they will be sending him for Christmas in Afghanistan. Storekeeper: Cindy Fuller showed us a travel bag for $15.00, winter jackets for $65.00. She then informed us that she was ordering another group of the long sleeve t-shirts. Community Service: Denise Karpa stated that we have 4 more Community Service event this year, all you need are 5 for your yearly pin. She then reminded us that Pets & Vettes are this Saturday, 11/15. This will be the largest Community Service event that we have had. See Skip Kelley or Annoula Wylderich to sign up for the car show, only $25.00 Upcoming Events: Ron Petersen spoke on the Findlay Thanksgiving Car Show on Saturday, 11/22, free. This is a Community Service Event - $5.00, 10 AM - 3 PM, arrive at 8 AM so we can all park together. Scott Mergele spoke on the Thanksgiving Dinner for Military personnel - the base is having trouble getting names. We have 9 members interest in inviting personnel. We will have more info on Monday. Skip Kelley spoke on Cars & Coffee on Saturday 12/6 Come hang out, meet new people, talk & show off our cars 8 AM, Henderson. Scott Mergele reminded us that at the December General Membership Meeting will be the Suitcase Drive for Child Haven. Bring a suitcase, back pack, etc. Ken Rees said that they will be having a Dyno Shoot Out on Saturday, 12/13 at the Race Track. Kay Petersen stated that the Cookie Exchange will be on Sunday, 12/14 at the Petersen home. There is a limit of people than can be present so sign-ups are closed. There is a waiting list available. Miscellaneous Announcements: Denise Karpa thanked all members who have sign up to volunteer at the Pets & Vettes , and be sure to wear your club shirts. Lin Hoernke stated that the 2014 Banquet was to be held at the Nellis Air Force Base this year, cocktail or formal attire. More info and date will be available soon. Victor Rodriquez, Jr. said that SEMA was awesome. Skip Kelley asked that he is in need of a truck to transport equipment to Pets & Vettes. Pat Russell said that he needs the nomination flyers from candidates for the website. Sally McVane stated that they will again this year be hosting a Super Bowl party She also informed us, due to popular demand, she will be planning a Idaho trip for next summer. Amy Groves asked if anyone took pictures at the High Roller to please send them to her. She then stated that she would be hosting Sin City Dinners again next year on the 3rd Friday of each month, starting in January. Jerry Lawrence stated that his band will be playing this Sunday at Boca Park. Clean Car Award: Larry Leard & Pat Russell awarded this months winner to Jim Buczek. Badge Drawing: was not won this month. 50/50: was won by Sharron Grodzinsky. A motion to adjourn: Scott Mergele asked for a motion to adjourn which was made by Ken Rees and seconded by Skip Kelley.
