The meeting was
called to order by President Skip Kelley at 7:30 PM in the Stallion
Mountain Golf Club Grill Room. There were 73 members and 21 guests present.

Events Coordinator: Kristen thanked us for coming out and said to
see her for any events you may want to have at Stallion Mountain Gulf
Club. Stallion Mountain Gulf Club is under new management and is looking
forward to a new year. A motion to approve the December meeting minutes: was made by Scott Mergele and seconded by Bob O'Brien. Motion carried. Treasurer’s
Report: Skip said the treasurer’s report is on the web site under
“members only”. If you have any questions, please give Connie Gentry
a call. President’s
Report: Skip introduced the newly elected Executive Board and asked
by show of hands for their approval. This was approved by unanimous
show of hands. Jimmy Cavallo has volunteered to be the Newsvetter Editor.
Sally McVane has graciously decided to stay on as our Sunshine Representative.
Skip stated that we are now still in need of a Storekeeper and for some
to please step forward and take this position on. Skip reported that
the Suitcase Drive received 108 pieces of luggage by 45 members. He
thanked Carl Hastings for chairing this event and Dale Foust who delivered
the luggage to Child Haven. Old Business:

Ken Rees reported on the Dyno Shootout that was held on December 8,
2012. He stated that Steve Tucker had 513hp, Rich McSimov had 517hp
and Scott Mergele had 609hp just to name a few. He also stated that
all results and photos are on our website. Racer’s Edge:
Lanny Lowman reported that there will 13 events this year and that there
were some new rules governing Racer's Edge making it easier for everyone
including those with convertibles to participate. You can find the new

Sally McVane reported the following: Ken Kroeger had a heart attack
at Christmas, he is on the mend; Patty Jo Diefenbach has breast cancer
stage 2, does not need chemo but is going through radiation treatments;
Dave Karpa has completed his stem cell procedure. There are some side
affects but is doing well. Sally also reported that Pat & Nita Russell's
grandson just earned Eagle Scout. Store: No
report this month. Upcoming Events:
Steve Tucker called up Lennard to tell us about the Annual Awards
Banquet which will be January 26, 2013 and will be fabulous!! The
cost for members is $45.00 and $50.00 for guests. It will be an evening
attire event at Sunset Gardens at 6PM and will feature dinner, dancing,
awards and hosted drinks. This is an evening for the club to enjoy and
to socialize, so come on out! It is subsidized by the club for the members.
Tonight is the cutoff date to respond, so see me to make last minute
reservations. January 27th will be the Annual Laps for Charity
which Connie is the chair for. Meet at American Shelby at 8AM and we
will have a 9AM start. Connie said the cost is $30.00 per car and benefits
LVMS Children’s Charities. You can register on-line under the LVMS website.
Bob Hulshouser reminded us of the Annual Wrangler’s Night, which
benefits Henry’s Place on March 2, 2013. You can get your tickets on-line
which are $15.00 with $7.50 of that which goes directly to Henry's Place.
Our own special parking area with Security, provided by Bob, photo's
at 6:30 PM before the game. Benita talked about her President’s Run
Feb 15-18th. It will be in Ventura, CA Pierpont Inn. Cost is $100.00
per person, rooms are $89.00 for a regular and $115.00 for a king room.
Meet at Benita's house at 9:00 AM on Friday Feb. 15th for the caravan.
Benita also spoke on the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Henderson
on March 16th, flyer and more information to come soon. Skip said to
keep March 9th open for our Kingman's Run. We will be meeting
at Car's & Coffee at 8:30 AM, leaving at 9:00 AM, tour some of what
Kingman has to offer, museum's, shops, etc. have some lunch and then
we will be returning by another route. Cost will be $5.00 per person.
Mike Groves and Rex Wilhoite spoke on the NCCC Convention in
April 4-7 at the Silverton Hotel Casino. 30 clubs in the West Coast
Region. There will be 2 Rallies, car show, race at Spring Mountain in
Pahrump. Register on-line or see Mike or Rex. Steve reminded us that
all events are by "you" the members. Come see him to schedule
an event and to get your event's package. Skip then got up and reported
that we were in need of a Super Bowl Party. Rich McSimov and
Bonnie Corbett stood up and volunteered to host one on February 3rd.
A emergency E-Board was then needed to approve this event, they will
meet immediately following this general meeting.** Miscellaneous
Announcements: Benita read a Thank You card from Rancho High School
for the homecoming and handed out certificates for smoothies to all
the drivers from them. She also read a letter of Thank You from St.
Jude's for the Corvette Roulette donation. Clean Car Award:
Larry Leard stated that due to the weather last month we picked 2 winners:
December's winner was Pat Russell, January winner is Gino Montoya Corvette Trivia
Drawing: Was presented by Victor Rodriguez and won by Rex Wilhoite. Badge Drawing: Winner was Art Mikuta for $25.00, was not present so $5.00 will be added to the amount for next month. 50/50: Winner of $139.00 was Mike Groves.
