The
meeting was called to order by President Benita Klaizner at 7:30 PM in
the Stallion Mountain Golf Club Grill Room. There were 98 members and
7 guests present.
Findlay Chevrolet: Slim said they are always here for us and if we need anything to just give them a call. He offered us 20% off on parts and service and thanked us for our business. Kristen Giles, Events Coordinator: Kristen thanked us for coming out and said to see her for any events you may want to have at Stallion Mountain Gulf Club. They will be having a fabulous New Years Eve dinner if you are interested. A motion to approve the November meeting minutes: was made by Nita Russell and seconded by Scott Mergele. Motion carried. Treasurer's Report: Benita said the treasurer's report is on the web site under "members only". If you have any questions, please give Denise Karpa a call. President's Report: Kathy is retiring as Newsvetter editor and we need a volunteer to take over. Kathy will help with the transition. The Dyno Shootout this past weekend was a lot of fun. The Cookie Exchange at our new members, Mike and Amy Grove's house was a wonderful way to start the holidays. Old Business: Benita called for the nominees for positions on the E-board to come up and introduce themselves. Nominees were: President: Kathy Clapp and Skip Kelley Vice-president: Ken Ackeret Treasurer: Connie Gentry Secretary: Brenda Cavallo Director: Scott Mergele, Ken Rees, Bill Thomas and Stephen Tucker Ballots were distributed to paid members and then collected for a count. New Business: Introduction of New and Prospective Members: Ellie Johnson reported guests attending were: Lucia Gonzales, Joyce Colucci, Donna Rinehart, Kathleen Unzicker, Christianne Terry, Bernie Terry and Marc Mercury who is joining tonight. New membership cards will be distributed next month. Marty Belaski is getting his plaque tonight. Committee Reports: Drag Racing: Ken talked about the five drag races during the summer. Racer's Edge: Cathy said information about Racer's Edge is on the web site. She had plaques from the last autocross for 2nd place Pat Ackeret and 1st place Ken Rees. Sunshine: Sally had good news that Dave Gagliardi is engaged to a lovely young lady. Don Kot had hip surgery and is doing well. Dave Karpa is in Arizona getting stem cell treatment. Lin Hoernke's son is recovering from a motorcycle accident. Store: Luanne said she has new LVCA jackets which are $93.00. Come see her! Upcoming Events: Ken called up Lennard to tell us about the Annual Awards Banquet which will be January 26, 2013 and will fabulous!! The cost for members is $45.00 and $50.00 for guests. It will be an evening attire event at Sunset Gardens at 6PM and will feature dinner, dancing, awards and hosted drinks. This is an evening for the club to enjoy and to socialize, so come on out! It is subsidized by the club for the members. Jan 5th will be the cutoff date to respond, so get your money in. Lastly, if you have a scrap book, please present it to one of the Awards Banquet committee. January 27th will be the Annual Laps for Charity which Connie is the chair for. Meet at American Shelby at 8AM and we will have a 9AM start. Connie said the cost is $30.00 per car and benefits LVMS Children's Charities. Bob Hulshouser reminded us of the Annual Wrangler's Night, which benefits Henry's Place on March 2, 2013. Benita talked about her President's Run Feb 15-18th. It will be somewhere that is 333.4 miles away. More information to come soon. Miscellaneous Announcements: Benita announced the "In12days" event, which was a really fun event for needy children; The 12th day concert will be December 17th at 12:30PM. The cost is $18 per person and all proceeds go to the charity. Mark Wynn and Larry Leard spoke about Stallion Mountain's New Years Eve dinner which is only $25.00. It will be finished by 9:30 PM so you can watch the fireworks at home afterwards. Also Gordon McLister will be in town December 15th at 5PM at PT's Pub on South Decatur. Please stop by and see him. Thayne has a neighbor who has a 2006 with only 13,000 miles for sale for $29,000. Carl Corbett said the C-7 will be unveiled on 1/13/13. Clean Car Award: Due to the weather there will not be an award tonight, but two will be awarded next month. Badge Drawing: Winner was Terry Rees 50/50: Winner of $200.00 was Nita Russell. Results of the Election: All ballots and absentee ballots were tallied and the results were: President: Skip Kelley Vice-president: Ken Ackeret Secretary: Brenda Cavallo Treasurer: Connie Gentry Director: Ken Rees Benita thanked all her board members and handed the gavel to Skip Kelley. He accepted the gavel and the position of president. A motion to adjourn: A motion to adjourn was made by Benita Klaizner and seconded by Wanda McCurry. The motion carried.
