The meeting was
called to order by President Benita Klaizner at 7:33 PM in the Stallion
Mountain Golf Club Grill Room. There were 60 members and 8 guests present.
Findlay Chevrolet:
Slim let us know Paul, Chad and he are offering a 40% discount on services
this month and diagnosis for free. They must see Slim for the discount!
They are always here for us and if we need anything to just give them
a call. He thanked us for our business.

Events Coordinator: Benita let us know on behalf of Kristen that
Stallion Mountain Gulf Club are having a fabulous Thanksgiving brunch
/ dinner from 11AM to 2PM and it is only $24.95 per person and $12.95
for children. Kids under 7 are free.
Introduction:
Veronica Huneing, St Jude’s Ranch for Children.
The Findlay Car Show turned out great and on behalf of St Jude’s Ranch
Veronica Huening was presented with a check by Benita for $1,545 from
Findlay Chevrolet and LVCA. Veronica thanked all of us for helping to
take care of holiday needs for all the children and in particular the
entertainment for Christmas.
A motion to
approve the October meeting minutes: was made by Bob O’Brien and
seconded by Jim Gregorio. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s
Report: Denise Karpa said she and Dave will be in Arizona for his
stem cell transplant at the Mayo Clinic. Lennard Grodzinsky will be
taking over the duties of treasurer during December and will help with
the transition to the new treasurer.
President’s
Report:
The Monster Mash car show turned out fabulous for the fun had and for
their charity. There have been quite a few homecomings and they were
a lot of fun.
Old Business:
Benita called for nominations to the floor for E-board members and for
president.

Mark Wynn motioned
nominations be closed and Gino Montoya seconded the motion. A vote by
our members passed the motion.
New Business: Introduction of New and Prospective Members: Ellie
Johnson let us know that as of tonight we have 200 members. Guests attending
were: Henry Grodzinsky, Lucia Gonzales, Ted Arhontas, Vickie Gousias,
Gary and Brenda Graske and Ken Thornton. Joining tonight is Marty Bielaski.
About 27 members may not renew and she will have a final count in January.
She will be presenting pins at the Annual Awards Banquet in January.
She will present 8 five year pins, 11 ten year pins, 2 fifteen year
pins, 4 twenty year pins 1 thirty year pin and 3 forty year pins. The
two 40 year pins will be to Larry Leard and Bonnie Rausch. Four plaques
are being presented tonight.
Committee Reports:
Drag Racing: Ken talked about the Dyno shoot-out December 8th.
It is $50.00 per car and there are videos showing how it works on our
website.
Racer’s Edge: Cathy said there are ten events in the series and
out of ten, 6 of the best are chosen for the competition. There will
be a fun auto-cross on December 2nd from 7AM to 4PM at the LVMS.
Sunshine: Sharron read thank you notes from Gary and Judy Stanco
and from Sharon and Joel Boyd. She mentioned that Cheryl Blum lost both
her parents recently, Darrell Wood lost his step-father, Wanda McCurry
is recovering from back surgery, Bonnie Corbett’s son had surgery and
she was sick also, Chuck and Jennifer Searle are going to be grand-parents
and so are Jerry and Benita Klaizner. We wish them all speedy recovery
and our thoughts are with them.
Store: Luanne said the new polo shirts have arrived. The cost
is $65.00 and you have to be a member to purchase them. She also has
lots of other items. Come see her!
Upcoming Events: Ken called up Benita to talk about the Comedy
Show Night coming up November 17th at the Tuscany hotel. The cost
is $12.00 per person and there will be a pre - show dinner available
at Bahama Breeze about 5PM. Carl Hastings is hosting the Annual Suitcase
Drive for Child Haven. Bring your cases to the December 13th meeting.
Mike and Amy Groves, new members, will be hosting the annual Cookie
Exchange on December 2nd. Bring 3 dozen home made cookies. The cost
is $3.00 per person. Lanny described the Annual Dyno Shoot-out
on December 8th. You can also join a “horse power” club. Gino and Greg
came up to tell us about the Annual Awards Banquet which will
be January 26, 2013 and will fabulous!! The cost for members is $45.00
and $50.00 for guests. It will be an evening attire event at Sunset
Gardens at 6PM and will feature dinner, dancing, awards and hosted drinks.
This is an evening for the club to enjoy and to socialize, so come on
out!
Miscellaneous Announcements: Victor is a master planner for Nellis
and he announced Aviation Nation is this weekend. Parking with shuttle
service is at the speedway and admission is free. Come see the Air Force
Thunderbirds in action! Scott Mergle mentioned a 2011 Corvette for sale
which has only 1,200 miles on it. Fletcher Jones is taking offers. Skip
Kelley said the “Doctors in Concert” went great and made $50,000 dollars
for Nathan Adelson Hospice. He will be at Boulder Station this Saturday.
Denise has put brochures for SEMA on each table. It is an action network
and is free to join. The organization monitors all legislation having
to do with automobiles. Lennard explained the Awards banquet honors
LVCA members who have participated in the club all year long. This includes
people working on their own vehicles. If you have been keeping a scrap
book, please present it for competition. If anyone has a scrap book
of this year’s events please let him know. Benita said there will be
a silent auction of 2 signed prints of the 1st Grand Sport with the
#’s 7 & 10 out of 1000 by John Hayne, the auction starting at $50.00
and they will be on our web site. They were donated by one of our Members,
Ray Battaglini.
Clean Car Award: Larry Leard presented Rudy Blum with the award
this month.
Badge Drawing: No winner
50/50: Winner of $150.00 was Mike Groves who donated it back
to the club. Thank you Mike!!!! That was very generous!
