The
meeting was called to order by President Benita Klaizner at 7:32 PM in
the Tres Rios Cantina. There were 68 members and 8 guests present.
Findlay Chevrolet: Slim spoke about how he misses Jim Gregorio
at the shop, he is out on a leave of absence for a while. Slim is offering
1/2 off of all detailing. Jim Smiciklas, the new General Manager for the
collision repair services was present and offered 10% off repairs.
Dominic Parisi - LVH: Benita thanked Dominic and the LVH for all
their support and for providing great deals in their specialty restaurants
for us.
Guest - Samantha Rudder LVMS: Talked about the Super Chevy Show
for Skip Kelly, Sept 14-16, 2012 at the LVMS. Drag Racing, Autocross,
and more. 2 Car shows for a $50 entry fee. See flyer for complete fees
and details.
A motion to approve the May meeting minutes: was made by Rex Wilhoite
and seconded by Nita Russell. Motion carried.
Treasurer's Report:
Benita said the treasurer's report is available on our website and if
you have any questions please see our treasurer, Denise Karpa.
Old Business: Benita went over the results of the online survey,
there were 53 responses and she was generally pleased with the results.
New Business: Due to extenuating circumstances the EBoard Meeting
will be moved to the Wednesday night before the next meeting. Anyone who
wants to present an event, please check with Benita.
Introduction of New and Prospective Members: Lin Hoernke filled
in for Ellie Johnson - reported we currently have 189 members. Our guests
tonight are Gary Lowers, Joyce Colucci, Victor Rodriguez, Lucy Gonzalez,
Brenda Graske, Gary Graske, Rudy Blum, and Cheryl Blum. New Members: Patty
Jo Diefenbach with a 2009. Ray with a yellow 2009.
Committee Reports:
Sunshine: Sally McVane, Jim Gregorio recovering from back surgery,
Rex Wilhoite recovering from shoulder surgery. Benita and Jerry leaving
for Prague - have a great time!
Past Events:
Benita reminded us for what a great turn out there was for the Findley
Father's Day car show 6/16, 6/16 Round 4 Drag Racing - Ken Rees, Lanny
Lowman ran the event in Ken's absence, Cathy Wilson won the event for
the first time! Cathy also had the fastest reaction time within .0059!
Cindy Fuller won a trophy for being closest to her dial-in time, within
.58 seconds. Congratulations to all who participated. 6/21 - Sonic Drive-in
Street Teens - Sally McVane thanks to all who participated. 6/23-25 Tuachan
- Denise Karpa, what a great time in St.George, and a great show too.
Upcoming Events: Mt Charleston Run headed up by Connie Gentry on
July 21st no sign ups just meet in the north parking lot at the Santa
Fe Hotel at 9:30 and bring cash. 8/26 Idaho trip - Sally McVane lets us
know there is only one room left so you need to let her know ASAP if you
need it. 9/1 is round 5 of
Drag Racing. 9/8 IPOF Car Show to be held at the Silverton parking lot,
see Roy Hoernke for more information. 9/13-16 is the 25th Anniversary
of the Silver State Classic Challenge, see Pat/Tom for more information.
9/14-16 Super Chevy Show at LVMS - See Skip Kelly for details. Breakfast
in the Park needs volunteers for the 9/23 event, cost is $10/$12 per person,
starts at 9am, details - see Lin Hoernke. Lanny Lowman talked about the
Mohave Mile Shoot Out - registration is open for the 9/29-30 event.
Miscellaneous Announcements: Irene Duis thanks everyone for their
support after her Mother's passing.
Clean Car Award: Larry Leard announced the winner, Bill Martin
with his 2011 Red C6 Grand Sport.
Badge Drawing:

next month.
