The
meeting was called to order by President Sherrie Wood at 7:30 PM in the Tres Rios
Cantina. There were 69 members and 2 guests present.
Slim Stevens, from
Findlay Chevrolet, thanked Sherrie for her year of service. He also bought three
pulls at the Dyno shoot out to give to the first three members to hold up their
hand. Chuck Searle received our check for $2,000 for the YMCA. They have helped
over 14,000 individuals this year and have exceeded their goal of $657,000 with
our help.
A motion to approve the October meeting minutes: was made
by Bob O'Brien and seconded by Tommy DeGennaro. Motion carried.

Sherrie announced December birthdays and those members present received a free
drink coupon courtesy of the Las Vegas Hilton
New Business:
Introduction
of New and Prospective Members: Ellie Johnson reported we currently have 212
members and 176 paid for next year. Ron Mathews is our new member joining tonight.
Jeff and JoAnn Malter joined us as guests tonight.
General Election:
Ballots were distributed to all paid members present and then counted. Results
were: President - Benita Klaizner, Vice-President - Lennard Grodzinsky, Treasurer
- Denise Karpa, Secretary - Sharron Grodzinsky, Director - Lanny Lowman.
Committee
Reports:
Archives: Carol Gagliardi reminded members that at
the start of this year the Mossybacks were charged with going through 40 years
of stored LVCA materials, deciding what was important and archiving it. Carol,
Carl Hastings and Pat Ackeret sorted through it all and saved important historical
data, state documents, legal papers, photos and Vetters. All the rest was destroyed.
Awards Committee: Lennard asked anyone who has modified their car
to notify him. He also said for anyone who has made a scrapbook to present it
for the awards competition. Greg and Gino asked that anyone who is going to the
Awards Banquet to get their checks in tonight.
Racer's Edge: Cathy
Wilson presented trophies for the Corvette Roulette Rally and auto show: 2nd
place Rally was Sherrie and Darrell Wood - 1st place Rally was Ken Rees 2nd
place Autocross was Ken Rees - 1st place was Darrell Wood
Sunshine:
Sally said Patti and Marvin Maize celebrated their 25th anniversary. They met
in LVCA in 1979. Unfortunately Patti is in the hospital with pneumonia right now.
Curt Miller has recovered from his knee surgery. Carl Corbett is home now, but
spent 10 days in the hospital due to heart problems, a blood clot in the lung
and pneumonia.
Past Events: The Boulder City train ride hosted
by Frank and Sandy Lewis was a big success with breakfast at Cruzers and then
the train ride to Rail Road Pass. The Findlay Car Show turned out great with 30
participants. Our club took 6 awards including the award for best club participation.
The next show will be Franks Father's Day show. 48 people came to the Cookie Exchange
at Rich and Carole's beautiful house. The gifts for 42 children from St Jude's
ranch were plentiful and they are very grateful.
Upcoming Events:
The Annual Suitcase Drive for Child Haven was led by Carl Hastings tonight. He
received donations from 48 members for a total of over 70 cases for the kids at
Child Haven to use. Ken Rees encouraged everyone to come out to Dyno Shoot Out.
This is held every year and twenty cars are scheduled to be at Shelby from 9AM
to 1PM on January 8, 2012. Lunch will follow. Connie is having a community service
event on January 30th at the Speedway. Laps for Charity's cost are $30.00 per
car and is from 11 AM to 4PM. Ken said to mark our calendars for Super Bowl party
on Feb 5th.
Miscellaneous Announcements: Lennard thanked Sherrie
for two years of an unbelievable amount of work done for our club. He asked the
members to join him in thanking her. She has done a marvelous job for all of us.
Sherrie said Darrell forgot to mention that they donated 3 bikes on behalf of
LVCA at the car show. Skip has finished his car and his scrapbook. It is still,
however, a work in progress. Cathy Wilson's husband is playing at Alexis Park
every Thursday night. Benita talked about the Super Bowl party on Jan 5th. They
need volunteers and Vickie has football pool betting boards for $1.00 each. This
is a community service event.

A motion
to adjourn: Sherrie thanked her board and introduced the new board, at that
time she passed the gavel to Benita. Benita adjourned the meeting; a motion was
made by Ken DiPiero and seconded by Bob O'Brien. The meeting adjourned at 9:00
PM.
