who has volunteered for each office. Those volunteers for the December
vote are: Benita Klaizner for President, Lennard Grodzinsky for Vice-president,
Denise Karpa for Treasurer, Sharron Grodzinsky for Secretary, and Lanny
Lowman for Director. The other director position is still valid for next
year.
Ellie also mentioned running into some old members of the club including
Jim Slocam, Andy Lewis, and Jerry Rinole.
Committee Reports:
By-Laws committee: Frank Gagliardi gave a brief summary of Article
13. It is significant because it provides guidance for handling our club
money. It requires we have two bank accounts of which one is a working
checking account and the other a savings reserve account. The reserve
account is for emergencies only and is to be maintained at a minimum level
of 75% of our total expenses for the year. Any expenditure must be presented
and approved by the E-Board prior to being voted on at the general membership
meeting where it has to be approved by 75% of those voting. If the reserve
is less than the minimum, a committee to rectify the deficiency is appointed
by the President. A motion to approve the changes in the by-law was made
by Kathy Clapp and seconded by Frank Gagliardi. The motion was approved
with 61 in favor. We currently have less than 50% in our reserves. Our
new President will appoint a committee to determine how to raise funds
for the deficit. The reserves are necessary in case of a catastrophic
problem with a big event. Sherrie gave our thanks to Frank Gagliardi,
Roy Hoernke and Terry Rees for all their hard work on this difficult change
in the by-laws.
Corvette Roulette: Pat Russell reported that 117 people registered;
there were 73 cars and $22,522.16 in income and approximately $2,038.00
in expenses. That left $2,477.83 profit for the Bill and Lillian Heinrich
YMCA. Photos are on the web site and Pat said the response from his survey
of attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Marvin announced the winners
of the autocross. Discussion was the held regarding the disposition of
the profit to charity. Carol Gagliardi mentioned the CR Board had voted
to give a partial donation to charity and the rest to the club. Lennard
said the money from the yet unsold inventory was going to the club, and
a member reminded us we had just passed a rule to increase the reserve
fund of the club. Skip motioned we give $2,400 to charity and Ken seconded.
Motion did not carry. After more discussion Anne Torres motioned we give
$2,000 to charity and Thayne Colvin seconded. The motion carried by a
vote of 31 yes and 21 no.
NCCC: Carl Hasting gave a report on the current NCCC points. Because
the NCCC director is just out of the hospital the points are not yet sanctioned.
Racer's Edge: Cathy Wilson presented a description of the series and
said she will distribute the trophies at the next meeting.
