Old Business: none

New Business:
Introduction of Prospective Members/New Members:
Lin H., filling in for Membership Chairman Ellie J., reminded us that the annual dues statements for 2011 will be mailed out September 1st and are due by October 15th. Guests attending tonight are: Tom Burdick (returning member), Mike Rees, Stewart & Linda Marolf, Sami Valdez (returning member), Susan Maika & Chuck Piazza. A membership plaque was presented to Marcella Virtue.

By-Laws Committee Presentation:
The committee is currently accepting our proposed changes to the By-Laws, Standing Rules and Code of Conduct. Please find the request form on our website. Terry R. presented four By-laws changes. The members present received a copy of these changes which also included the Committee's recommendations. The recommended changes have been put on our website and will be posted in the September Newsvetter. The membership will vote on whether or not to adopt these changes at the September membership meeting. The official recommendations by the committee will be attached to these minutes. Due to space constraints, a brief summary of the recommended changes will be paraphrased here.

Article 4 Section 4: This section lists by what delivery method the membership will be notified of meetings: either written, printed or personally. The requested change is to add email as a way of notifying the membership. The By-laws committee recommends adopting this change.

Article 8 Section 2(b): The present wording lists the Appointed Executive Board Officers who have voting privileges. The requested change is to add Webmaster to this list. The By-Laws committee recommends adopting this change.

Article 9 adding Section 11:
If Article 8 section 2(b) is adopted, a job description for the Webmaster will need to be created. This new section does that. The By-Laws Committee recommends adopting this section.

Article 9 Section 3(a): This section states that the By-Laws and Standing Rules will be posted on the website for viewing by Members Only. The submitted By-Laws change requests that not only those two documents, but also the Code of Conduct should be posted on the website and be made available for the public to view. The By-Laws Committee recommends including the Code of Conduct on the website, but does not approve of making our governing documents available to the general public as it is not in the association's best interest.

Corvette Roulette 2010: Chairman Bonnie C. reported on the financial performance of this event. There were 128 people who attended: 74 LVCA members and 54 guests and 80 vettes were registered. There were 51 entries in the Car Show, 34 in the Low Speed Autocross, 37 in the Matching Time Trials Autocross, and 32 registered for the Rallye. The total event income was $21,945 and the total expenses were $20,665, netting a $1,280 profit. Since this was a charity event, the proceeds will be divided between the two designated charities: St. Jude's Ranch for Children and Fairway Chevrolet's charity, the YMCA. A motion to donate $640 to each was made by Terry R., 2nd by Bob O., motion carried. The children at St. Jude's will also receive the cowboy boots and hats used for the event centerpieces.

Corvette Roulette Membership Survey Summary: This survey was sent via Survey Monkey to all LVCA members with e-mail addresses. Those without received their surveys by mail. Except for the first year, the past 4 events have made basically the same profit but the attendance numbers have decreased. We have averaged 75 club members who have attended. The consensus is that 80% believe that the event was a success, 73% have attended at least 1 Corvette Roulette in the past, 88% believe the fees were fair, 82% would like to see the event continue but only 57% said they would attend. Many would like to change to another weekend. A motion to continue Corvette Roulette on a year by year basis was made by Carl C., 2nd by Bob M., motion carried. Sherrie announced that Jim Gregorius has volunteered to chair this event next year.

Committee Reports:
Drag Series: Ken R stated 3 out of the 5 races have been completed. The next drags will be Sept. 11th and the final one, a Racer's Edge event, will be Oct. 2nd. Please go to the website a few days before the event to get the time schedules as the speedway doesn't let us know the schedule too far in advance.

Community Service: Terry R. encouraged new and prospective members to get involved in our many community service events. Upcoming events include Homecomings, Tuacahn, and the UNLV Car Show. Our great work benefits the community.

Racer's Edge: Bob presented trophies from the Nevada Open Road challenge, the Matching Time Trials and the Drags. The next event is the Silver State Classic Challenge September 16-19. Bob still need volunteers. Your room will be paid for; you get a free lunch on Thursday and hors d'oeuvres Friday night. The club is given $19 per person for working the car show, mile and ½ mile shootouts, grid and final safety.

Publicity: Jim W. was contacted by the San Gennaro Festival coordinators because they would like us to participate in a car show. The cars would have to be left there for 6 days from September 14-19th. No one liked that idea, so Jim will go back and say we would participate in a Saturday show on the 18th from 2-7. The membership liked this idea better so Jim will see if he can get them to agree to that.

Store: Storekeeper Linda B. asked us to come over and see what new items she has for sale, including watches for $20, clocks, aprons, all with the club's logo on them. Corvette Roulette canvas bags are for sale for $3 each and the bling bags are $5.

Sunshine: Lin H. announced that the Foust's grandson has had surgery; George McFarland's son is having chemo treatments; Jan Tucker had a knee replacement; the Masluk's have a new granddaughter; the Leard's are celebrating their 49th anniversary tonight and the Yokshus' celebrated their 50th anniversary.
