| The meeting was called to order by President Sherrie Wood at 7:30 in the Paradise Café at the Las Vegas Hilton. There were 85 members and 9 guests present. A motion to approve the May meeting minutes was made by Greg W. 2nd by Jim R., motion carried. Treasurer's Report review: Dave B. stated we are doing well with the income from Corvette Roulette. Please be sure to submit any bills you might have from Corvette Roulette. June birthdays were announced and those members present received a free drink coupon courtesy of the Hilton. Old Business: none New Business: Introduction of Prospective Members/New Members: Membership Chairman Ellie J. stated that we have 226 members. Please make sure she has your correct mailing information before she leaves for the summer. Lin H. will be taking Ellie's place in July & August and the dues statements will be mailed out Sept. 1st. Guests attending tonight are: William Gass, Peggy Hegner, Sami Valdez, Karen Mirto and Brian Uzowihe. Joining tonight are Rick & Marcella Virtue and Paula & Mike Kerro. Membership plaques were presented to Mike & Marsha Borders, Ben & Donna del Villar, Bill Thomas & Yvette Delaney. By-Laws Committee: Roy H., Frank G., and Terry R. are serving on the committee this year. They submitted the first set of revisions to the membership-(punctuation and grammar changes only) at the last meeting and they have also been on the website for review. Ken K. suggested "his/her" be added to page 4, Article 5, Section 3, line 4. A motion to approve the administrative changes was made by Darrell W., 2nd by Carl H., motion carried. Please continue to submit any by-laws revisions to Roy, Frank or Terry. Committee Reports: Community Service Chairman Terry R. is proud to be a member of our generous and motivated club. If you have an idea for an event and want to make it community service, please see her. Drag Series: Cathy W. filled in for Ken R. and reported that the next drags will be on June 26th. Go to our website, click on the Competition tab, then to Start Your Engines to get information on drag racing. NCCC Governor: Carl H. stated there were 46 car show, 28 rallye and 32 autocross cars that participated in Corvette Roulette for points. There were about 1,000 points earned at this event. You can go to our website for his report and he will be emailing everyone with how many points we received. Racer's Edge: Bob M. stated that the Nevada Open Road Race trophies will be presented at the July meeting. The staff was very happy with the work that LVCA did and we were presented a check for $494 for our assistance. Store: Storekeeper Linda B. asked us to come over and see what new items she has for sale, including earrings, clocks, watches, aprons and mouse pads with the club's logo on them. Sunshine: Lin H. announced that Dale F. had eye surgery and that our member Sal Giordano passed away. Webmaster: Pat R. stated he is always looking for suggestions on how to improve the website. If you are having trouble downloading the NewsVetter, please contact him and he will send you an attachment via email. He needs tech tips and for sale items. (The for sale items don't have to be Corvette related.) Go to the website for the most up-to-date information on our events, clean car award recipients, drag racing results, all the Vettoons, Corvette Roulette photos, anything you might need should be there. Events: Past Events: Jim W. stated 18 vettes participated in the May 15th Helldorado Parade. We got good camera time and you can go to "Cox Demand" to see a replay of the parade. Next year we will have a potluck picnic as we had to be in line 2 hours before the parade started. His New Mexico Trip was June 4-7 and everyone had a good time. The Hastings had a better time after their radiator was replaced. Corvette Roulette: Bonnie C. thanked all the volunteers who helped put on our largest event of the year. The survey results and the budget report will be presented next month. Marvin presented autocross plaques to Carl H., Bob O., Darrell W., Tom S., Carl C., Roy H., Dan M. & Cathy W. A full report will be in next month's NewsVetter. Upcoming Events: Sherrie stated that the first caravan will be leaving for the Big Bear Bash June 24th. Please let her know if you plan on attending and see the flyer for more information and schedule of events. The Mt. Charleston Runaway lunch will be July 10th. This will be a community service event, we will have reserved parking at the restaurant and there will be 4 menu items. Ken stated there are some mystery events being contemplated for August. Please see him if you have an idea for an event. Misc. Announcements: Sherrie & Darrell's 30th anniversary party June 19th has changed locations. Please see her if you did not receive the new address. Sally M. announced that she will have information about her Labor Day Getaway next month. Jim L. discussed the Corvette Night at the Bullring at the Speedway. The car show is free. Denise K. reminded us that the Tuacahn event will be the last weekend in September. The prices will remain the same as last year and the play will be "Crazy For You." Curt M. has a cold air intake for sale.
50/50: Bonnie C. won $122. Other raffle prizes included a $150 gift certificate from the Hilton, Hilton shirt, LVCA dog tags, hats, LVCA mouse pad, coasters & notepads and a 51's hat. A Motion to Adjourn was made at 8:35 by Cathy W., 2nd by Carl H., motion carried. Respectfully
