The
meeting was called to order by President Connie Gentry at 7:30 pm at the
Italian American Club. There were 87 members and 10 guests present.
Brittney Sandler, the Public Relations representative from St. Jude's
Ranch was presented a check by Corvette Roulette 2009 Chairman Bonnie
Corbett and President Connie Gentry in the amount of $3,500. In her thank
you remarks, Brittney stated that 95¢ out of every $1.00 goes to
the kids. She encouraged us to come for a tour of the facility. You can

Approval of June's meeting minutes was made by Darrell W., 2nd
by Carl C., all approved. Lennard G. stated in his Treasurer's Report
that we are running right on budget for this time of the year. See the

New Business: Connie read the list of July birthdays and those
present received a free drink courtesy of the Italian American Club.
Introduction of Prospective Members/New Members: Substituting for
Ellie J., Lin H. introduced guests Bob Ginsberg, Mark Wynne, Brittney
Sandler, Mark & Fran Klein, Dominic Parisi, Peter Ricciardo, Agnes
Jiran, Chuck Searle and Skip Kelly. Membership plaques were presented
to Don Kilgore and Don Collins.
Fairway Sponsorship: Don K. said business is picking up and they
are offering lots of incentives. He has a 2008 Calloway coupe, 18,000
miles, 3 LT package, supercharged for sale for $52,000.
Committee Reports: NCCC Governor Carl H. stated that last year
LVCA was #1 in the region for points & we each received a free patch.
If you want another patch, you can buy one at our store for $1.00. We
are currently 4th place in the region and Darrell and Sherrie Wood are
the top point-getters in LVCA. See the points listing on our website.
Racer's Edge: Bob M. would like someone to volunteer to put on
a Racer's Edge rallye. He also needs more volunteers for the Silver State
Classic Challenge in September. See the website for photos of the last
race and the Racer's Edge point standing.
Store: Vicki C. announced 2 new items for the store: ladies denim
shirts in faded blue or ink blue with the club logo for $25 and a man's
dress shirt in 4 solid colors with Vegas Vettes embroidered above the
pocket for $35.
Sunshine: Sally M. announced that Benita K's son is now a United
States citizen; Ken and Terry R's son is home from Iraq; Jeff and Ellen
B celebrated their 20th anniversary June 3rd; Jeff's cousin Randy passed
away from a motorcycle accident; Don Lovell has now been placed in a home
for Alzheimer patients; Jim and Glenda L. will celebrate their 38th anniversary
tomorrow; today is the 45th anniversary of Don and Agnes J's first date.
Don K. introduced Sam Smith, Fairway's Parts & Performance guy.
Sam stated that they carry after market brands as well as GM. If you buy
an '08 or '09, and you buy upgrades, they will factory warranty them.
They will also give you a 1 day pass to the Spring Mountain Driving School
in Pahrump. For any aesthetic or performance upgrade, they can help you

Past Events: At the Breakfast for Charity June 7th, over 300 items
were donated to Safe Nest stated Benita K.
The Fun Run to Yosemite June 19-22 was a blast reported Dave and

Big Bear Bash June 26-28 was 80 degrees cool said Sherrie W. and
hopefully more club members will attend next year.
Upcoming Events: Mt. Charleston Run Away will be July 18th said
Connie G. There will be a $5 community service collection for the Mt.
Charleston fire department. Earlene K. and Jim W. discussed the July 20th
Las Vegas 51's Night. We will get a free hat, one lucky person
will throw out the ceremonial first pitch, LVCA's name will appear on
the scoreboard, there will be $1 concession items, and designated parking.
The NCCC Convention is Aug. 8-14 in Colorado Springs, come join
the caravan. Take US 50 out of Grand Junction as I70 is under construction.
The dates have changed for the Drags, reported Ken R. Round 4 will
now be August 29th and the final round (a Racer's Edge event) will be
October 3rd. He wants more ladies to participate. Curt Miller and Cathy
Wilson are the current leaders.
The Labor Day Getaway Sept. 4-7 HAS BEEN CANCELLED Sally M. announced.
Denise K. reported on the Tuacahn Run Sept. 26-27. We will depart
from the Speedway, lunch in Mesquite at The Casablanca, a $5 a hand poker
run will be part of the caravan, and then cocktails at the Holiday Inn
in St. George. Dinner will be at Tuacahn, followed by the play "Aida".
Breakfast Sunday morning will be at the hotel with prizes for the poker
run.
Miscellaneous Announcements: Bill M. reported on the Mesquite Motor
Mania hosted by the Las Vegas Crusin' Association where they awarded $8,000
in prize money. The next show will be Jan. 15-17, 2010 at a cost of $75
which will include 2 nights at the hotel, entry to the car show and a
t-shirt. They are expecting 500 cars next year & Bill will present
the event to us later in the year. Ken R. stated that Gil Navarro has
Z06 chrome wheels and rims for sale for $2,100. See the ad in the "for
sale" section of our website. Roy H. presented Connie a beautiful
sponsorship plaque from the Injured Police Officer's Fund car show we
attended in April. Benita K. knows of 4 C5 rims and tires for sale for
$1,500. Bonnie C., Events Coordinator, announced that there are now volunteers
to host the Halloween Party, the Cookie Exchange and New Year's Eve.
Clean Car Award: Larry L. and Jim G. selected Benita K.'s vette
as this month's winner.
Badge Drawing: The winner of $40 was Steve T.
50/50: Terry R. is $100 richer! Merchandise raffles were awarded,
including a surprise $25 gift certificate from the store.
